Turning my Plushies into Amiibo

I've had a lot of free time lately so I've been playing more video games than usual. I was playing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and was bored so I decided to scan in my Pink Yarn Yoshi Amiibo and play a few matches against it. I always really liked this Amiibo because it was basically just a plush, and I have a huge soft spot for plushies. While playing I ended up getting this idea: "What if I turned my plushies into Amiibo?" My thought was I could get blank NFC chips and write Amiibo data on them, and then insert them into my plushies. This would make it so I could scan them into Smash Bros. and play with my plushies.

So I looked up NFC chips on Amazon and ordered a pack of 50 for about 10 bucks. Then I picked my Wario plush to be the guinea pig for the experiment. I started by cutting a hole into him like this.

My friend sent me a Google Drive link that contained the data for every Amiibo, so I downloaded the Wario data. When the chips arrived I took one and wrote it as a Wario Amiibo with an Amiibo writing app on my phone. It worked smoothly.

My next action was to slide the little NFC chip into Wario. Afterward I did a ladder stitch to sew him back up. I feel like I did a good job closing him. In retrospect, I wish I chose a better place to put the chip, because the Wario plush is sorta big. It's really awkward having to scan his butt with the controller while he is laying down.

After scanning him in he worked very well. So I decided to make a few more Plush Amiibo. The sewing I had to do was a lot easier than I anticipated it to be. The plushies I turned into Amiibo were Wario, Joker, Piranha Plant, Kirby, Black Kirby, Inkling Girl, Toon Link, Morton, and Sonic. I plan to do this with most of my plushies since it is pretty easy.

Below are some pictures of them scanned in and fighting each other. They suck at the game because they have only been fighting each other so far for the most part. I will eventually try playing serious matches with them to teach them better habits.
